Tim Severin set out to challenge common thinking about legends, myths and historical figures from the past, questioning how things may have been. Much of his work involved painstaking reconstructions of perolous journeys, seperating him from family and friends for months on end. As well as capturing these in his books, he also recorded the journeys in documentory films which have become classics of exploration and adventure. At film festivals they have received many accolades including Best Camerman, Best Film of the Sea and Best Adventure Film.
